Under The Wing is an expansion upon the work I began with Words Beyond My Call, examining the methods I used to create the sound of that work and the importance of mentor figures in the creative process through the lens of a one-man theatre work.

A short 15-minute version of this show was developed over the course of 2022-23 at PACT Theatre through their Labs program, and was subsequently performed as part of their Sound Out The Street festival. This short version of the work focused on the loose story of the troubles of moving away from home and the inspirational presence of a local magpie.

This showing is not the end of this work's lifespan, however, as I am in the process of developing a longer-form version of the work which aims to dig deeper into the musical inspiration behind the stripped-back sine tones that constitute the soundworld of the original Words Beyond My Call project.
